Homeless people scare me. I don’t donate to them because that would require getting within a close proximity of them. Also, I don’t carry a lot of cash.
And this is sort of along the lines of what you were saying: What if I give money to one homeless person and another homeless person sees this? Then they would approach me, and I would then feel obligated to give money to them. Someone would see me give money to them and..you get the picture. It’s a vicious cycle ending in me having a heart attack, broke, because I was attacked by a mob of homeless people.
But, yes, I agree with you.
